The Digi PortServer TS MEI Port 4 is a part of the PortServer TS H MEI product family of serial servers by Digi International. This serial server is developed particularly for facilities for traffic management, pipelines, utility plants, or other remote applications that require a hardened serial to Ethernet solution capable of withstanding different environmental factors such as extreme temperatures. This serial server product family comes in 4, 2 and 1 port models and makes it easy for users to remotely manage and network enable variable ramp meters, loop detectors, message signs, or other RS-485/ 422 and 232 serial devices. It also comes with the patented COM port redirector technology called RealPort. This innovative technology allows the establishment of a connection among the networked serial devices as well as the host computer system by making a local TTY or COM port on the host computer system. This will generally result in the perfect functioning of existing software even without modifications.
